“La Trottola”, the name of the store, brings with it two reading floors: that of the traditional wooden game and, at the same time, the metaphorical one of the liveliness and disarray typical of children.
Together with the client, we decided to opt for a pictogram that was not redundant with the logotype. Instead of representing a spinning top graphically and didactically, we chose to draw inspiration from the mark left by the spinning top in motion, with the metal tip ‘soiled’ with paint. After numerous attempts, we went through several scans from the analogue to the digital format, and carried out painstaking work in Illustrator.
